Day 1: Arrival and Relaxation

Morning:

  • Arrival at Zanzibar Airport. Transfer to Sandies Baobab, a 45-minute drive.

  • Check-in and welcome drink at the resort.

Afternoon:

  • Settle into your room, unpack, and explore the resort’s amenities.

  • Enjoy a leisurely lunch at the resort's main restaurant – the cuisine offers a range of fresh, locally sourced dishes.

  • After lunch, spend the afternoon by the pool or on the beach. The resort has its own private stretch of sand, so you can just relax, soak in the sun, and unwind.

Evening:

  • Enjoy a sunset cocktail at the beach bar.

  • Dinner at the resort. They offer themed dinners, including Swahili cuisine, seafood grills, and international options.

  • After dinner, take a stroll along the beach or enjoy live entertainment provided by the resort.


Day 2: Beach and Water Sports

Morning:

  • Wake up early to witness a stunning sunrise over the Indian Ocean.

  • Enjoy a hearty breakfast at the resort’s buffet with fresh fruits, local pastries, and hot dishes.

  • Spend the morning on water sports activities like snorkeling or windsurfing. The resort offers non-motorized water activities, and there are plenty of spots to explore under the water, with coral reefs just off the beach.

Afternoon:

  • Take a break for lunch at the resort and relax by the pool.

  • Optional: Participate in a beach volleyball game or take part in an organized activity offered by the resort.

Evening:

  • Dinner in the outdoor seafood restaurant. Enjoy freshly caught fish or grilled lobster, paired with the best local wines.

Day 3: Explore the Spice Plantations and Stone Town

Morning:

  • After breakfast, embark on a half-day spice tour. Zanzibar is famous for its spice plantations, and you'll get to see how they grow, harvest, and process exotic spices such as cloves, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

  • Learn about the island’s spice history, and enjoy the fragrant scents along the way.

Afternoon:

  • Visit Stone Town for a guided walking tour of this UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore the winding alleys, discover hidden courtyards, visit the spice markets, and shop for local crafts.

  • Have lunch at a local café or in Stone Town, enjoying a traditional Zanzibari meal.

Evening:

  • Return to Sandies Baobab in the late afternoon for some relaxation.

  • Dinner at the resort with a specialty buffet featuring dishes inspired by the spices you learned about on the tour.


Day 4: Relaxation Day

Morning:

  • Take the day to fully enjoy the resort’s amenities. Start with a relaxing breakfast by the beach.

  • Spend the morning enjoying the resort's private beach or indulge in a spa treatment. You can book a couple’s massage or a facial for ultimate relaxation.

Afternoon:

  • Enjoy a light lunch at the resort.

  • Opt for an afternoon of lounging by the pool, or take a leisurely walk around the resort's lush tropical gardens. If you're feeling active, try some yoga or a fitness class offered by the resort.

Evening:

  • Dinner at the a la carte restaurant, with fine dining and a selection of curated dishes showcasing local flavors.

  • Enjoy a quiet, peaceful evening under the stars.


Day 5: Safari Blue Tour

Morning:

  • Early breakfast before heading out for the Safari Blue Tour, one of Zanzibar's most famous excursions.

  • Set off by boat to explore Menai Bay, a protected area known for its crystal-clear waters and abundant marine life. You'll have the chance to snorkel, swim, and spot dolphins.

Afternoon:

  • Enjoy a freshly prepared seafood BBQ on a deserted island or sandbank. A picnic on the beach with a variety of grilled fish, lobster, and tropical fruits.

  • Continue your adventure by swimming in natural lagoons and relaxing on the sand.

Evening:

  • Return to the resort in the late afternoon and relax.

  • Dinner back at Sandies Baobab, with a casual beachside BBQ or themed dinner night.


Day 6: Jozani Forest and Dolphin Safari

Morning:

  • After breakfast, take a half-day trip to Jozani Forest to see Zanzibar’s unique wildlife, including the famous Red Colobus monkeys. The forest is home to rare species and offers beautiful walks through lush greenery.

Afternoon:

  • Head to Kizimkazi for a dolphin safari. You can swim with the dolphins in their natural habitat, or just observe them from the boat.

  • Enjoy a seafood lunch at a beachside restaurant in Kizimkazi.

Evening:

  • Return to Sandies Baobab.

  • Have dinner at the resort and spend the evening at leisure. You may want to grab a drink at the bar or enjoy some live music.


Day 7: Leisure Day & Sunset Cruise

Morning:

  • Spend your final full day in Zanzibar as you like. Enjoy a laid-back breakfast, and perhaps take a morning swim in the ocean or pool.

  • Visit the resort's boutique to shop for any last-minute souvenirs.

Afternoon:

  • Relax at the resort or take part in any remaining activities. Consider a cooking class where you can learn to prepare Zanzibari dishes or take a final walk along the beach.

Evening:

  • End your trip with a romantic sunset dhow cruise. The traditional wooden boat will take you along the coast while you enjoy a chilled drink and watch the sun dip below the horizon.

  • Return to the resort for a farewell dinner, perhaps with a private beach BBQ or a candlelit dinner on the terrace.


Day 8: Departure

  • Enjoy a final breakfast overlooking the beach.

  • Pack and check-out of Sandies Baobab.

  • Transfer to Zanzibar Airport for your return flight, taking with you unforgettable memories of a relaxing and enriching stay in Zanzibar.
